Aims and Scope

Aim
The Asian Review of Civil Engineering (TARCE) aims to advance research, scholarly communication, and professional practice across the major disciplines of civil engineering by publishing rigorous theoretical, experimental, computational, methodological, and practice-oriented research. The journal provides an international forum for studies that contribute to the planning, analysis, design, construction, operation, maintenance, resilience, and sustainability of civil engineering systems and infrastructure.

TARCE encourages research addressing contemporary challenges in the built environment, infrastructure development, urbanisation, climate resilience, sustainable construction, resource efficiency, and the application of emerging technologies in civil engineering. The journal particularly welcomes research that demonstrates scientific and engineering significance, methodological rigour, practical relevance, and clear contributions to the advancement of civil engineering knowledge and practice.

Scope of the Journal
TARCE publishes original research articles, review articles, and case studies in areas including:

  • Structural engineering, structural analysis, and structural design

Interdisciplinary manuscripts are encouraged where the research demonstrates a substantive contribution to civil engineering, infrastructure, construction, the built environment, or related engineering systems. Manuscripts that are primarily concerned with general management, business administration, social sciences, pure computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other disciplines without a clear and substantive civil engineering application are outside the principal scope of the journal.

Readership
The journal is intended for an international readership of researchers, academics, civil and structural engineers, construction professionals, consultants, planners, infrastructure specialists, educators, research scholars, industry professionals, and policy-oriented professionals working in civil engineering, construction, infrastructure development, and the built environment.

Types of Articles

  • Original research articles
  • Review articles
  • Case studies

Originality and Relevance
Submitted manuscripts must present original scholarly work relevant to the stated aims and scope of TARCE. Manuscripts should demonstrate scientific, engineering, or technological significance through the development, application, validation, evaluation, or improvement of theories, methods, materials, analytical approaches, construction processes, infrastructure systems, or civil engineering technologies.

Research submitted to TARCE should make a clear contribution to civil engineering knowledge or professional practice and should demonstrate relevance beyond a purely descriptive or highly localized application wherever appropriate. Interdisciplinary studies must establish an explicit connection to civil engineering advancement, infrastructure development, construction technology, sustainability, resilience, or evidence-based engineering problem solving.
